MacLean, 26 Haymarket, May, 1838. gr2°/tall-folio (56x38 cm), [28] leaves : chiefly illustrated with tinted lithographic pictorial title (in Craydon Church), lith dedication with list of plates verso, 1 leaf of lithographic text printed on recto only, 25 tinted lithographic plates, publisher’s olive quarter morocco over straight grained brown cloth, gilt gotic arch and title on front, gilt title on spine, leather rubbed, corner bumped, contemporary name on first endpaper, small owner stamp on title, only the last plate with some foxing on text below the illustration, else tight and clean inside, Cover title ’Nash’s Architekture of the Middle Ages’.– First edition. A second part was announced, but never published, and Nash seems to have concentrated his efforts on his later and larger series ‚The Mansions of England in the Olden Time‘ published from 1839 on.–
